Data Breach At Cosmetic Company

The Hospital Group, also known as The Transform Hospital Group, a large cosmetic surgery chain with 11 clinics, has confirmed they have suffered a data breach due to a ransomware attack. Patients' before and after photos, along with other details, are being threatened with exposure by the hackers.

After becoming aware of the data breach, The Hospital Group said they had emailed all their customers about the cyber-attack and individuals that may have had more personal details compromised would be contacted separately.

They said in a statement: "We can confirm that our IT systems have been subject to a data security breach. None of our patients' payment card details have been compromised but at this stage, we understand that some of our patients' personal data may have been accessed."

The hacker group known as REvil, also known as Sodinokibi, have claimed to have obtained more than 900 gigabytes of patient information, including photographs. Not only this, they have posted on their darknet webpage stating "intimate photos of customers" were "not a completely pleasant sight".

A previous client of the company has been interviewed by the BBC and has provided the following information:

"I have had an email from The Hospital Group informing me of a 'data security incident' but no detail as to what has been hacked.

"I'm obviously concerned as the last thing I want is 'before photos' being splattered around in the public domain. I've tried to keep my surgery private and not even some of my friends and colleagues know about it, so the data breach is concerning for me."

Have you received an email from The Hospital Group advising you have potentially been affected by this breach?

We understand this is a sensitive subject for all involved so why not contact our discreet team and let us do all the hard work?
